David Parkinson

David has worked for more than 30 years in the Telecommunications industry, including activities in wireline and wireless operations with Ericsson in Ireland, Europe, Asia and Africa. He moved to Ericsson Business Communications in 1986 a separate company supplying voice and data solutions to the enterprise market in Ireland. His was tasked to implement and support the growing customer base of medium and large enterprise customers which involved close liaison with the Ericsson product departments in Sweden and United States. He also was responsible for implementing strategies, which enhanced the companys positioning in the Irish market place with the MD110 PBX, MX-ONE, WANs, CTI, and IP.
In 2000 David was invited to join Formus Communications, an innovative broadband solutions provider. His role, as Technical Director, was to build a high quality Broadband Wireless Access and Point to Point microwave network which would allow licenced services be implemented with the flexibility to allow future services such as VoIP. Recent projects include the MAN Regional Broadband networks project for Department of Communications, mobile networks coverage issues, client voice and data network services management, telecoms network valuation, price benchmarking and data centre site assessment and audits.
